The County Administration Building is undergoing renovation, resulting in limited access to the building, expected to last through October 2023. Beginning September 5, the Reception Desk for the Environmental Health Division will be temporarily located in the Commissioner's Large Meeting Room on the 1st floor with the entrance located on the west side of the building closest to the Court House. During this time, Environmental Health staff will be available by appointment only.

Environmental Health Land-use Permitting Applications are now available for online submittal and payment. This update will not change how we currently process food service establishment applications.
Land Use & On-site Septic System applications are now accepted online via our permit portal (SmartGov).
We will no longer accept paper applications with the exception of drawings.
Residential
Residential building permits encompass a wide range of projects including single-family residences, duplexes, town homes, accessory structures, alterations, additions, remodels, and/or grading and filling. The permitting process for a residential project is setup in 3 STEPS and begins with the Site Plan Review application now accepted online via our permit portal (SmartGov). We no longer accept paper applications with the exception of construction drawings.
Commercial
Commercial building permits are classified as new commercial construction, tenant improvements, alterations, change of use, demolition, accessory structures, alterations, additions, remodels and/or grading and filling. The permitting process for a commercial project is setup in 4 STEPS and begins with a Pre-application Conference now accepted online via our permit portal (SmartGov). We no longer accept paper applications with the exception of construction drawings.

Monday – Friday 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Environmental Health offices are located on the 3rd floor of the County Administration Building along with the Planning and Building Divisions.
The front counter is open daily for business at the hours noted above. We recommend scheduling an appointment to ensure the staff member you wish to speak to will be in the office as our department is heavily field-based.
