Grays Harbor County Department of Public Services, Facility Services Division has the responsibility to provide clean and safe buildings and grounds for the staff and public of the county. This charge includes responsibility ranging from the grounds, to plumbing, electrical, roofing, and many miscellaneous jobs when a county department calls for assistance.

The division accomplishes this Mission with a dedicated staff comprised of the director and sixteen (16) maintenance and custodial employees who are experienced in all aspects of facility maintenance.

The staff's responsibilities are numerous and varied. They include, but are not limited to the following complexes:

Montesano Campus; includes the following:

  • Administration Building
  • Courthouse
  • Maintenance Shop
  • Forestry Building
  • WSU Extension Building
  • Jail Complex (Support Enforcement, Evidence Storage, Drug Task Force, Criminal Division Annex)
  • Facility Services
  • Food Bank

Off campus facilities include:

  • Pearsall Building
  • Juvenile Detention Center
  • County Fairgrounds
  • Vance Creek Park

The Montesano campus has well over 100,000 square feet of space. Other areas of responsibility are the Juvenile Facility (19,000 sq. feet); the Pearsall Complex (with approximately 10,000 sq. feet); Vance Creek Park (located in Elma); the three County Maintenance facilities (Elma, Cosmopolis, and Copalis Crossing); the Elma Head Start and Elma Co-op preschool buildings; and the Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds located in Elma (68 acres), which includes the pavilion building, maintenance facility/storage building, nine exhibit barns, four horse barns, horse and auto race tracks, camping grounds; satellite offices for Grays Harbor College and the WSU Extension Office.
