To see if remote appearance is permitted for an upcoming hearing, please review the type of hearings listed below. 

CRIMINAL HEARINGS
  • Out-of-Custody Defendants shall appear in-person for all hearings.
  • In-custody Defendants will appear via zoom from the jail, except for sentencing, change of plea hearings, and special set hearings such as 3.5/3.6 or motions in limine.
  • Defense Counsel may appear via Zoom for pre-trial hearings.
  • Observers may appear in person. YouTube or Zoom is not permitted. 

CIVIL & DOMESTIC FAMILY LAW HEARINGS

  • In-person appearances are preferred, but all participants and attorneys may appear via zoom for motion calendar dockets.
  • All parties shall appear in-person for any trials or testimonial hearings.

PROTECTION ORDER HEARINGS

  • All respondents and attorneys shall appear in-person. 
  • Petitioners have the option to appear via zoom.

THERAPEUTIC COURT HEARINGS

  • All hearings are held in-person.

DEPENDENCY HEARINGS

  • Dependency Motion Docket will be conducted via Zoom for Parents & DCYF.
  • Attorneys shall appear in person for any hearings.
  • Shelter Care Hearings will be held in-person only.
  • All parties shall appear in-person for any trials or testimonial hearings.
  • Observers may appear in person. YouTube or Zoom is not permitted. 

JUVENILE CRIMINAL HEARINGS

  • Juveniles may appear in-person or via zoom for Motions
  • Juveniles shall appear in-person for change of plea and disposition hearings.
  • Juvenile Fact Findings (Trials) will be held in person.
  • Attorneys shall appear in-person for all hearings.
      



WELCOME TO GRAYS HARBOR COUNTY SUPERIOR COURT
Grays Harbor County Superior Court is a trial court of general jurisdiction having original and appellate jurisdiction as authorized by the Constitution and the Laws of the State of Washington. Superior Court Judges hear felony, civil, domestic, guardianship and probate matters, juvenile matters and dependency cases, and appeals from Courts of limited jurisdiction (Grays Harbor District Court and the Municipal Courts located in Aberdeen, Cosmopolis, Elma, Hoquiam, McCleary, Montesano, Oakville, Ocean Shores, and Westport). Grays Harbor Superior Court consists of three full time Judges, one Court Commissioner and its administrative support staff. Its courtrooms and offices are located in Montesano, WA. The courtroom for juvenile cases is located at the Grays Harbor County’s Juvenile Center at Junction City near Aberdeen.

The Grays Harbor County Superior Court is committed to the administration of justice in a fair, impartial and timely manner and to promote respect for the rule of law. This Court shall strive to provide a courthouse and forums that are safe and accessible to all. The Court shall conduct its business with integrity and respect in order to foster public trust and confidence in the judicial system.
