A resolution of the Grays Harbor County Board of Commissioners regarding Washington State COVID-19 vaccine verification requirements for County employees.
WHEREAS, on February 29, 2020, Washington State Governor Jay Inslee proclaimed a state of emergency for all Washington counties as a result of the coronavirus disease 2019 ("COVID-19"); and
WHEREAS, the County has no legal ability to waive Washington State Department of Labor and Industries ("L&I") requirements, and is subject to enforcement actions for violations of Governor's Proclamation 21-14.1; and
WHEREAS, the County does not support vaccine verification requirements for any County employee; and
WHEREAS, the County recognizes that each and every County employee knows what is best for his or her health and safety, and that getting vaccinated is a personal health decision.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Grays Harbor County Board of Commissioners that the County declines to implement any COVID-19 vaccine verification requirement for any County employee that exceeds those implemented by Washington State at any given time.
